## Directory

### Services

**Services** are what you offer (e.g. haircut, facial, massage). Each has a name, price, duration, category, and optional description and images.

* **Directory** → **Services**: view the catalog, add or edit services, set categories and availability. You can bulk import (e.g. Excel/CSV) if your plan supports it.
* Use services when creating appointments and when agents suggest or book appointments.

### Staff

**Staff** are your team (e.g. stylists, estheticians, receptionists). Each has a profile, role, schedule, and optional specialties and performance data.

* **Directory** → **Staff**: add staff, set availability and working hours, view performance. Assign staff to appointments.
* AI features may suggest staff matching or schedule optimization depending on your plan.

### Clients

**Clients** are your customers. You store contact info, history (appointments, services), preferences, and notes.

* **Directory** → **Clients**: view and search clients, add or edit profiles, see history and preferences. Link clients to appointments and conversations.
* AI features may offer client insights, churn hints, or personalization depending on your plan.

## Appointments and calendar

### Appointments

**Appointments** are scheduled sessions: client, service(s), staff, date and time, and status (e.g. confirmed, completed, no-show).

* **Appointments** or **Calendar** in the menu: view by day or week, create appointments, assign staff and service, send reminders.
* Reschedule, cancel, or mark no-show. Use workflows for reminders or follow-ups (e.g. day before, after first visit).

### Scheduling flow

* Create an appointment manually or let clients book (if you use a booking channel or agent).
* Vendors/staff can propose times in some flows; in Beauty OS the main flow is often direct booking or staff assignment.
* Notifications (email/SMS) can remind clients and staff when configured.

***

## Workflows

**Workflows** automate steps (e.g. form submitted → add to leads → send confirmation → create task “Schedule consultation”). You or an agent can run workflows for appointments, leads, or client engagement.

* Start workflows from the relevant screen (e.g. new lead, appointment created) or let agents run them from chat. Configure which workflows an agent can run in **Agents** → **Persona** → **Workflows**.

***

## Communication and integrations

* **Inbox / messaging** — Conversations with clients, linked to client or appointment. Agents can handle booking or support.
* **Notifications** — Email or SMS for reminders, confirmations, follow-ups (when configured).
* **Integrations** — Stripe, Slack, calendar, etc. Configured by your admin in **Settings** or **Integrations**.

***

## Agents and AI Hub

* **Agents** — Create chat, phone, or email agents for booking, client support, or daily briefings. See [Agents](/agents/overview).
* **AI Hub** — **Behaviour**, **Workflows**, and **Knowledge base** are configured here and used by agents across Beauty OS.
