# Set up Grio CX

> From your documents to a live support agent.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add your documents">
    Go to **Manage** → **Knowledge Base** and upload what your support team uses: FAQs, policies, price lists, procedures. Your agent only states facts it finds there.

    <Tip>
      Short, focused documents work better than one long handbook. One topic per document is ideal.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create your support agent">
    Go to **Manage** → **Agents** → **New agent**. Start from a template or describe what you need, for example: *"Answers our customers about shipping, prices and parcel tracking. Hands over to a person for refunds."*

    See [Build your first agent](/jen-studio/build-your-first-agent) for every option.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Give it your documents">
    In the agent, open **Persona** → **Knowledge base** and select the documents it should answer from.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Try it">
    Open **Playground** and ask the questions your customers ask most. Mark answers **Good answer** or **Bad answer**, and use **Teach the agent** to correct it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Put it in front of customers">
    Choose where it answers:

    * **Your website**: [add the chat](/grio-cx/web-chat) from the agent's **Deploy** tab.
    * **Your Intercom**: [connect Intercom](/grio-cx/connect-intercom) so it answers there as a teammate.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Follow how it goes">
    Watch **Inbox** for conversations that need a person, and check [Insights](/grio-cx/insights) after the first few days.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  WhatsApp, SMS and phone are set up with our team for now. Contact your Grio representative to add them.
